The sphere of your mind has developed four corners,
White mirrors of reflection have become stolid walls,
A suspended tomb of shadows, gold dust, paint flakes,
Silver panels decorated with glass and spider lilies,
You learned the secret alchemy of brick to glass to smoke,
Erosion crushes no rock, and the stars show no light,
As synthetic lights pulse under your transparent skin,
And old burgundy ink dilutes your pools of thought,
Hollow echoes of your name permeate the darkness,
And plunge through the molten metal of your conscience,
You do not feel the hollow doubts and weathering of time,
Long ago you chose ice and time in this crystal chrysalis.
